Australia and New Zealand freight forwarders: AI next to your TMS
Australian and New Zealand forwarders and customs brokers run on email, pre-alerts and documents from agents across Asia, Europe and the US. Alex reads that work, links it to the right job and prepares the next step for your team. Your TMS stays your system of record.
In one paragraph
Alex works next to Expedient, CargoWise or your own system. It reads your shared mailboxes, checks each pre-alert against invoice, packing list and booking, prepares customs entry lines with their source, flags biosecurity documents, and checks supplier invoices against agreed rates. Your brokers and operators decide; Alex prepares. Everything sits in one workspace instead of separate tools.
What Alex does for an ANZ forwarder
- Mail per job. Reads imports@, exports@, customs@ and accounts@, links every mail to the right job and drafts the reply.
- Pre-alert check. House bill against commercial invoice, packing list and booking: packages, weight, consignee and description, before the cargo report and arrival.
- Customs entry preparation. Entry lines for a Full Import Declaration or a Self-Assessed Clearance, with tariff classification proposals and their source. Origin evidence for FTAs such as ChAFTA, AANZFTA, AI-ECTA and KAFTA. The licensed broker reviews and lodges through your own system and the ABF Integrated Cargo System.
- Biosecurity. Flags missing packing declarations, treatment certificates and import conditions to check in BICON before the cargo arrives.
- Arrival to delivery. ETA changes, clearance, availability, wharf cartage and empty de-hire per job, with customer updates ready to send.
- Invoices. Supplier invoices checked against agreed rates and the job; sales invoices drafted before ETA.
Next to your system, not instead of it
Many ANZ forwarders run Expedient or CargoWise and have already automated parts of their process. Alex does not replace that. It reads what comes in, prepares what goes into your system, and leaves the decision with your team. How Alex connects (EDI, import files or your system's own interfaces) is agreed with your IT per workflow.
How we work
- Start with one workflow. Usually the mailbox and pre-alert check, measured against your own service levels.
- Your team stays in control. Nothing is sent or lodged without a person, until you decide otherwise per workflow.
- New requests in days. Your team asks for a change in the workspace and sees the answer there.
- Company. Logentic is based in the Netherlands and works in English with forwarders across time zones.
